What we are looking for


The candidate must have tax preparation experience. Some experience coding in Java or Javascript is a home run. Or if they have done VBA coding in Excel. They will be coding the logic into the software to drive the tax return.

Come join the Professional Tax Group Division as a Tax Analyst Programmer I in the Plano office. Be part of the team that builds Lacerte and Intuit Tax Online content for individual and business tax professionals

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding or ability to learn federal and provincial taxation
  • Basic level understanding of software best practices and coding techniques
  • Possess or able to quickly learn and apply tax content development tools (both print and electronic filing)
  • Possess or able to quickly learn testing processes to validate work, whether automated or manual
  • Effective interpersonal skills, which translates into the ability to partner for commitment and action, communication, as well as listening
  • Cultural and organizational fit at Intuit and in Tax Content; emotional intelligence, business acumen, professional maturity, motivation for taking on this role
  • BS/BA in Business Accounting, or Computer Science or equivalent related experience
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Previous exposure and development coding software. Coding tax software specifically is a significant plus
  • CPA or EA certification


  • Maintains existing tax programs and related products ensuring offering is in compliance with taxing agencies regulations and guidelines within established deadlines
  • Research, analyze and interpret federal and state tax legislation, code, regulations, forms and instructions
  • Applies standard practices and procedures to implement basic tax product changes via code and internal software
  • Able to learn and perform unit testing and quality assurance checks to insure that no unintended changes are introduced during the annual update cycle.
  • Proactively seeks and obtains guidance from more experienced team members and uses these opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge
